Tosin Akindele
Tosin Akindele is a singer-songwriter and an experienced Choir Director/Vocal Arranger with over 8 years of experience in the music industry.
She predominantly comes from a Gospel background and manges her own Gospel Collective; Voices Beyond and is also the Choir Director for the award winning Manchester University Harmony Gospel Choir. She has been able to sing backing vocals for a number of well known artists including Tito Jackson, Northern soul singer Diane Shaw and many other great Soul and Northern Soul Artists. She has also performed across well known prestigious venues such as The Jazz Café in London, Under the Bridge in Stamford Bridge and KOKO London.
Tosin has also been able to work internationally and in 2011 she took a 7 day cultural trip to Brazil where she worked with Afro Reggae a cultural group that are recognised globally for their work in some of the most deprived areas of Brazil. She led Gospel and vocal workshops with a number of young people and adults from the favelas they work in. She also travelled to Copenhagen in Oct 2014 to lead a Gospel workshop weekend with A-Town Gospel choir and then Ethiopia in Nov 2014 to work with Retrack, a charity that supports children who live on the streets, where she also was able to deliver Gospel workshops.
She has now taken on a new venture as Communications Officer for Both Sides Records and she hopes to bring all her experience within the industry to the label.
